Frodin Shrimpy Sea Trout Spey Series
In a way this odd little fly can look quite like an ugly creature, but as we say the most beautiful fly is the one in the corner of the mouth of that desirable fish. We have caught so many nice sea trout on this little shrimp. Mostly on the coast but also for the fresh run early running fat fish. The ostrich will slim down to a durable extremely lively looking hackle. Fish it slow it will be extremely seductive.
Frodin Thunder Spey Sea Trout Spey Series
This is our number one spey fly version. We have fished it many years, both for salmon and sea trout. When the fish are tricky and demand a sparsely dressed fly nothing beats this. In the sun on the humus conditions it’s at its best. We fish it small, even very small, down to one mm XS tube, but we think it’s absolutely perfect on the new TTT.
Frodin Em Z Spey Sea Trout Spey Series
The number one sea trout night fly. The phosphorescent details together with the broad profile gives it the key sea trout night fly appearance. We love the translucent fly, the fly that will blend in with the water. Sea trout take the fly from behind, well upmended the zonker gives a fat profile that the biggest trout just love.
Frodin Black Doctor Spey Sea Trout Spey Series
We love the Doctor series, that little red on the head of the classics really appeals to us. This is a version that is best on low water and for the trickiest fish. The translucent appearance makes it suitable for difficult conditions. Colour wise it’s best on that cloudy day and perhaps to be fished in a pool where many fished before you. It’s different and effective.
Frodin Silver Doctor Spey Sea Trout Spey Series
This is the sunshine doctor, a perfect fly on the “hopeless” sunny low water conditions that are so tricky. Dangle it in the head of the pool where the oxygen level is highest, this is often where the fish hide and where they gather enough interest to take a fly. Again, we fish them small, very small, even tiny. Make sure the hackle is sparse and if you fish a winged version use a few strands of teal.
Frodin Olive Z Spey Sea Trout Spey Series
This is our daytime sea trout zonker. The olive colour that really works so well in our humus coloured rivers. The broad profile and the spey hackle to give life. A great fly for the Baltic sea trout – the biggest trout in the world. Also Tierra del Fuego trout go big and they love this little fat fly too.
