Goats Toe
The Goats Toe is a classic wet fly that is very effective when fished as part of a team of flies for traditional loch style fishing. All of our wet flies are tied with the finest hackle and best materials available. The Goats Toe is a great fly during any part of the season and will catch both brown and rainbow trout. It has also produced a number of Salmon on the Irish loughs!
Please Note: This fly is tied on the Fulling Mill Short Shank Special Hook, code 31510. This hook has a standard size hook gape, with a shank length one hook size smaller E.G size 10 looks like a size 12. Therefore, the actual size of the fly you buy, may look one size smaller than stated.

It is a good general pattern and can be taken as a small fish or sedge pattern. It also works well when the trout are feeding on daphnia when it should be fished quite slowly.
