Frodin Surface Flies
Frodin Zebra Hitch Fly
This I fish in the dusk or preferably on a cloudy day. The great contrast helps it stick out and give a good impression. I used to fish it on an orange tubing, but this more discrete silvery version is maybe I think better. For the dusk, I believe that the glow tubing adds to the impression and gives me the best dusk hitch fly in my box. In tricky conditions I sometimes try it fairly big.
Frodin Sillen Hitch Fly
With its translucent behaviour, this little fly seems to be extra interesting for the tricky fish. The less they see the more they want it. I normally fish this smaller than the Green Simple Hitch, maybe it’s for me more of a low water summer fly. Anyway, it’s for clear water, and maybe best when it blends in on the “blue river”.
Frodin Black Simple Hitch Fly
Maybe the best hitch fly of them all. The thin tapered wing strengthens the impression and make the small V on the surface irresistible. It might be hard to get why, but the orange head seem to make the fly even better. We have taken hundreds of salmon on this little simple fly. I fish them in almost all sizes. Try it and let it make your day too!
Frodin Green Simple Hitch Fly
The simple hitch for really clear water. A favourite which has given us great catches in Iceland, Russia and on many Norwegian rivers. When I prefer a decent size hitch on the very clear river this is my choice. I fish it square and sometimes pull it across. On the clear river the fish like the fast fly, or they will see it too long. Be prepared – the takes will be memorable for sure.
Frodin Greenlander Hitch Fly
A fantastic little fly for clear days on the clear river. Hitched or fished right under the surface this version is excellent. This version is of course influenced by the hitch flies of Iceland. Fish it like them, extremely small, micro hitch, on the clear river and you will be amazed how effective the little fly can be.
Frodin Brown Tri Turbo Bomber
The green bomber is my favourite. It has given me so many great fish. It sure has got its special place in my surface fly box. In fact, I would say that together with the black simple fly it’s the one I prefer for most of my surface fishing. I fish them from small to medium size, meaning from 2-4 cm. I always try to use a light single hook.

Frodin Orange Tri Turbo Bomber
That the salmon react different depending on the colour of the bomber is obvious. Sometimes the orange bomber has fooled fish when the discrete ones has not been working. A must in the box.For me it ́s like a spring bomber to fish as first choice when there is a bit of colour to the river. Don’t be shy, it can be fished quite big.
Frodin White Tri Turbo Bomber
White flies are fished too seldom, way too seldom. The white bomber is no exception. White against a light sky gives a diffuse impression. Fish it freely and it will appear very diffuse, pull it a little,
