Guideline FAVO Fly Reel

Part of the design is unique and can only be achieved by using a die casting method where reels are produced from high precision tooling and then CNC finished before being coated with the final finish. The drag system is smooth, precise and well proven over years. It will give good performance even though it is not sealed. Normal care and maintenance is required when using the reels in salt water. There are 3 models available and they will fit rods from #4 up to 10/11.   All three models have a full rim cage to stabilize the frame and prevent thin shooting lines from getting caught between frame and spool. The 810 also features extra X-truss supports and has a double 5-spoke pattern both on the spool and the frame. The retrieve direction on the reels is easy to alter and only takes a couple of minutes. FAVO has a Dark Gunmetal semi matte finish on the frame and spool, with black knobs and details. There are two orange metal plates with GL snake logo on the drag- and spool release knobs. Reels are delivered in a nylon reel case.

Sage Enforcer Fly Reel

Born of the performance of Sage's renowned THERMO big game bluewater reels, the Sage ENFORCER has been updated and fine-tuned for the power, reliability, and durability needs of the saltwater flats angler. Designed with peak performance in mind, the ENFORCER offers everything the flats angler needs in a reel, whether taming the explosive runs of double-digit Bonefish or putting the brakes on the freight train pull of triple-digit tarpon. Simply put, this is the ultimate saltwater reel for flats and heavy-duty fly-fishing applications. But battles on the flats are exercises in nuance and chaos, so we’ve beefed up the O-rings and drag plates for added durability, consistency, and reliability. Maximum drag has been increased by 50% over the ENFORCER’s predecessor, the SPECTRUM MAX; you’ll find eight pounds at the arbor in the 7/8 size, 15 pounds in the 9/10 size, and 17 pounds at the arbor in the 11/12 size. For saltwater anglers fishing heavy tippets who don’t want to let fish run continuously—or who care enough about their fingers to avoid palming fast spinning spools—this increased drag allows them to get the most out of their reel without sacrificing any metacarpals. From the first time, an angler stepped onto the flats with a fly rod; it’s been well-known that reels can take a beating in this environment; sand, wind, and salt love nothing more than finding a cosy spot inside a saltwater reel. The ENFORCER is more durable than any of our saltwater flats reels, with larger drag discs to better disperse pressure and maintain the consistency of the power band throughout the fight by stabilizing inherent stopping strength. An all-new reel foot design with radiused corners prevents abrasion to leaders wrapped around the reel foot for storage—or in the unfortunate but inevitable moments when the line wraps around the foot in the initial chaos of the hookup. Take these features—the old standbys, the innovations—and wrap them up in a burlier and more rigid and rugged cold-forged aluminium frame and you have a reel that will stand up to the drops, knocks, and beatdowns that frequently occur in saltwater fishing situations.

Fly Fishing Reels for Master Casting

As an essential part of your fly fishing gear, a good quality fly reel is an extension of yourself on the river, playing a crucial role in every cast, retrieve, and fight with a hooked fish. At Fin & Game we offer a meticulously curated selection of fly reels to suit all needs and budgets.

Choosing the Right Fly Reel

With a vast array of fly reels available, selecting the right one can seem daunting. Here are some key factors to consider:

The weight of the fly line you use will depend on the size and species of fish you’re targeting and the rod rating. Our knowledgeable staff can help you determine your fishing style’s ideal reel size and line weight.
  • Drag System: A smooth and reliable drag system is essential for effectively controlling runs and jumps from lively and powerful fish. We offer reels with various drag configurations, including sealed disc drags for exceptional performance in freshwater and saltwater environments.
  • Materials and Construction: High-quality materials like machined aluminium and corrosion-resistant stainless steel ensure your reel’s durability for seasons to come. We stock reels built to last, so you can focus on the thrill of the catch.
  • Features: Consider features like a click and pawl drag design to stop over-spooling, a large arbor for faster line retrieval, and ergonomic handles for comfortable use throughout the day.
