Fishing Flies
Frodin In Flames TTT Nobody Series
When the river gets some colour, we want our flies to do the same. In Flames is my number one high water fly. Fished deep the TTT is perfect. The TTT version I fish with a fl. orange or fl. magenta FITS steering tube or to tint it down to a fly for just a bit coloured water or those magic fall days fish it with a black steering tube.
Frodin Sillen TTT Nobody Series
A small Sillen on a floater is a deadly sunshine combo. The TTT version makes it possible to search that fast water without the fly skating. A bigger size will cut the white water and find the fish. On the “blue river” it’s the best and even gin clear colour likes Sillen. I fish it with silver, clear, glow or maybe it’s best with that fl. blue FITS steering tube.
Frodin Pahtakorva TTT Nobody Series
My first fish on the large TTT came from the Alta, weighing in at 36 lbs, it was a strong fantastic fish. In the corner of the mouth was that TTT Pahtakorva buried. One day later 38 lbs! The Pahtakorva on the TTT showed to be a great combination. I will fish this many places. On a light line the small size will fish quite high and the large will add some extra depth to the sinker. I vary the steering tube between black, bronze and fl. orange FITS.
Frodin The Witch TTT Nobody Series
This evil little fly originates from Black Green Helmet, but is a bit more of a sunshine fly for the clearer river. I fish it as a general standard fly on the greenish river. The Witch has been good to me, given me good fishing and big fish. The TTT makes it possible to stay on the floater for the fast water and to get on the intermediate faster. I vary the fly from fl. chartreuse to black FITS steering tube or why not try one in fl. yellow.
Frodin Mikkeli Blue TTT Nobody Series
The special night fly originating from the mighty Alta, based on the colours that stay longest before all gets grey. This version on our Mikkeli gives a fat profile and you vary it by using black or fl. magenta FITS steering tube. Personally, I just love that purple metallic colour. When the light goes away that’s what my eyes find in the box
Frodin Willie Gun TTT Nobody Series
The British standard on the TTT is a general fly for that whiskey coloured water (sounds better than tea). I prefer it on a cloudy day and varying the steering tube to fl. orange or fl. yellow FITS from black and it will work in a bit more coloured water. Add a gold hook and you have a fly for quite murky conditions. A super fly in many rivers.
Frodin Highlander TTT Nobody Series
This one of my patterns with a strong classic influence. In the old days, I fished the Green Highlander a lot. Nowadays this is my sunshine version. A modern deadly sunny day fly. I use silver, gold or fl. chartreuse FITS as steering tube. Fish it in that white water where the fish hide from the sun, fish it fast, and be prepared for that loop to smash the handle!
Frodin BTT Nobody Nasty Banana
The dirty yellow option on the humus tinted river is a safe card. Many versions on this concept have been tried. Mikael prefers this a bit to the brownish-olive side, it’s discrete but well seen. The small light fly that hoovers in low water can be very deadly. We fish it with Banana or Pahtakorva loose bodies or gold, bronze or black steering FITS tube.
Frodin BTT Nobody Barret Bimbo
One of our best night flies, or to be fished in the dusk. The muddler head gives extra sound and extra good silhouette. It bears the name from Mikaelsfavourite pool on the river Em where it’s giving him many great seatrout of 20 lbs and more. We fish it with the loose Barrett Bimbo body, or the Mikkeli Blue one. Bare tubs that work well is black or glow or when a bit of colour to the water a Fl orange one.
Frodin BTT Nobody Black Doctor Flash
Frodin BTT Nobody Yellow White Wing
Frodin BTT Nobody Greenlander
This is one of our absolutely best clearwater sunshine flies. Maybe it performs best on a river with a tint of green but in the light BTT version it’s a clearwater favourite on almost any river. They can be fished with our Greenlander or The Witch loose bodies or with a bare silver, Fl. Chartreuse or maybe glow FITS tubing.
