Fishing Flies
Frodin The Wicked One Classic Series
Frodin Hamilton Classic Series
Designed by Mikael Frodin, the Hamilton was born a night on the Alta, on the Barilla beat. Ever since it has proven to be a great over all favourite for daytime fishing in any water colour. The black and yellow wing is classic and deadly
Frodin Black and Silver Classic Series
A real allround fly. Sparkling silver against black gives the best contrast. You don not know what to pick? Choose a black fly! This is one of my absolute favorites for clear water cloudy days, or in the dawn wherever you fish
Frodin In Flames Classic Series
It first was known as Flomflugan, then it was redone, spiced and got the name In Flames. This is a hot little thing that proved to be good many many times. When the water go coloured this is often the trick. In many places a hot orange fly is good in other conditions as well!
Frodin Grey & Green Classic Series
To harmonise the fly with the water and in clear water almost make it disappear is often the key to the success. This fly was tied for the greenish river, but works almost better the clearer it is. It becomes the clear water ghost that many times proved to be very effective. Fish it near the fast water where the broken surface gives the spooky fish shelter - deadly!
Frodin The Witch Classic Series
The Witch is a for sure a magic lady, it’s a fantastic fly. Again, the black and green combination. Here the fl. lime green makes it more of a sunshine fly, yes, she’s best in clear waters. I fish this fly in many versions down to a small one on the smallest TTT tube. To dance it in the fastest water can be very exciting. Maybe it’s like this: the stronger the colour, the fresher the fish – you agree?
Frodin Sillen Classic Series
This is a favourite sunshine fly. When the river is turning blue it is unbeatable, but it is also great in crystal clear rivers. To make the fly blend in is important especially on the clear day in clear water. This is a fy that works great in the spring too, a big flashy Sillen is a superb cold-water weapon as long as the water is clear. I fish this favourite fly in all sizes down to just a few mm
Frodin Nasty Banana Classic Series
The Banana Fly concept has been popular ever since Micke Andersson showed the world how good the dirty yellow fly could be. For me personally I fished my Scott and Moonshine fly long before I created this version. I tinted it to the olive side and pimped it a bit classic style with the dyed teal hackle. I prefer to fish this in the humus coloured river when I need a discrete fly to stand out a bit more than my overall favourite Pahtakorva. I seldom fish them bigger than 8 cm or smaller than 4, for me it’s a medium sized fly.(NEW 2018)
Frodin Sierrakorva Classic Series
Pahtakorva´s colourful cousin! When the river got a bit more than tea colour to it - this is a deadly. A pattern many should fish more often. It got its name from The Nedre Sierra Pool on the Alta where it has lured a few fat ones
Frodin Black Green Helmet Classic Series
A true favorite! BGH has accounted formany memorable salmon. Black and chartreuse colours as classic for clear waters as orange and brown for slightly colored. Litza, Gaula, Aa, Laerdal in many many other rivers black and green flies outfish most.
Frodin Pahtakorva Classic Series
The Pahatakorva is Mikeal Frodin's most well known pattern. A fly that has taken tens of thousands of salmon. He fishes it gladly and often. A standard fly which works everywhere, might be the best in tea coloured rivers. Voted as the best fly on the best river in the world - the Alta
Frodin Silver Wilkinson Classic Series
This spring favourite of mine has its origin from the classic fly with the same name. On the sunny clear day, cold water and fresh fish, this is a super effective fly. I have during long time taken many fish on the Silver Wilkinson colours. Now with the new tungsten metallic cone it looks deadlier than ever! I fish this from medium down to quite small. It loves cold and clear rivers.
