Atlantic Flies Hexagon UV Orange Frances – Depth with a Bright Edge

The Hexagon UV Orange Frances, tied by Atlantic Flies, combines the legendary prawn-like profile of the Frances with the added visibility of vibrant UV-reactive orange. Built on a short tube and finished with an exceptionally heavy hexagon-shaped tungsten head, this fly sinks fast and fishes tight to the riverbed—right where salmon are holding in deep or strong flows.

The bold UV orange body adds a sharp visual trigger, making it ideal for coloured water, peat-stained rivers, or dull light conditions when a more aggressive presentation is needed. The stiff feelers and segmented body disturb the flow just enough to provoke interest, while the compact design and added weight keep it tracking low and steady.

Cast slightly upstream on a long leader and let the fly sink. As the current builds tension and the Frances begins to rise, it’s often at that precise moment fish strike.
