Fario Fly - Black 10cm Snake

The snake fly is without a doubt the "heavy weight" of the trout fly world and this huge fly has the ability to pull fish out of nowhere and big fish too! The black version we have found to be extremely effective for fresh "stockies" at the start of the season and in coloured water too. Fish this on a variety of lines from a floater right down to a fast sinking line. The best retrieves are just as varied as the line choice, where a super slow figure of eight can be just as effective as a fast strip. One thing we have found when using these flies is mixing the retrieve around can bring great results and without a doubt always, always, always "hang this fly". The unweighted versions are great for using in shallow water or over weed beds. All of our snakes flies are connected with super strong nano braid which is strong enough to hold big fish yet supple enough to enhance the movement of the rabbit zonker strip. You will see what we mean when it is in the water

Fario Fly - Yellow Dancer

The yellow dancer is probably the most popular lure there is on the stillwater scene. This Scottish invention was first used on the famous Newmills Trout Fishery in the 90's and at the time was responsible for some huge catches and huge fish. It now comes in various guises and this particular version is as close as we can provide to the original. For best results fish on a floater or intermediate with a short pull and stop retrieve or a figure of eight. Quite simply you should not fish any stillwater or trout fishery without some of these in your fly box.      Hook- Heavy Wet Size 12-10. Bead- 3.8mm Sz 8, 3.3mm Sz 10. Fario Fly - IPN Orange

The IPN or "Idiot Proof Nymph" is probably the most basic lure used on small waters and reservoirs alike. These Lures are essentially long marabou tailed flies with blob fritz bodies, a matching hot head bead and contrasting varnished thread collar. All of this makes for a very simple but very effective fly. They are superb at catching stocked fish and we always prefer to fish them singularly or teamed with another IPN. For the Orange Version our favourite matching fly is the IPN Black Cat or the IPN Olive.

The yellow dancer is now availible in various guises and this particular version has the inclusion of Dumbell eyes, these add extra weight which in turn empahises the deadly duck and dive motion that this lure should be fished. For best results fish on a floater or intermediate with a short pull and stop retrieve or a figure of eight. Fario Fly - Natural Quill Cruncher

The Natural Quill Cruncher is a modern cruncher pattern which has gathered a huge following in recent years. Unlike a conventional cruncher which has a pheasant tail body this version has a stripped peacock quill body which undoubtably gives the most natural appearance for this fly. We recommend the use of this nymph during the summer months and has been successful on Rutland Water, Lake of Menteith and Grafham Water. We have also found it to be a popular corixia pattern when used during the months of September and October.
