Anti Tick Clothing
At Fin & Game we strongly believe that Zech-protec clothing is very important when out in the elements. We have a variety of clothing with the impregnated, odourless chemical. You can see our products by clicking here… FIN & GAME ROVINCE PRODUCT.
In the UK tens of thousands of people are bitten by ticks each year, from these tick bites it is estimated the UK sees 2000-3000 new cases of Lyme disease discovered each year. When you purchase any Rovince product from Fin & Game it is impregnated with Zech-protec.
Tests with Zech-protec have proven to be 98% effective against tick bites. Each product stays active for up to 100 washes. This product has been scientifically developed and tested over many years.
How does the clothing work against ticks?
When the tick is looking for its blood meal it positions itself in the vegetation waiting for its next host. The tick senses its next feed approaching using its Haller organs. Once the host brushes past, the tick will climb onboard. It is at this point that the Rovince clothing kicks into action. As soon as the tick is in contact with the Rovince fabric it begins to feel a thermal reaction resulting in its feet becoming hot. We call this the “HOT FEET” effect. This heat becomes so intense the ticks will evacuate the host, leaving you un-bitten. Tests have shown, on average the tick will exit the host after 20 seconds.
We cannot stress enough how important this clothing is when out and about in tick populated areas. You are a high risk of contacting Lymes disease, this product will hugely decrease your chances and put you in a far safer environment.
