🎣 Fin & Game Open Day – Saturday 26 July 2025 | 11am–8pm

Join us at Fin & Game for a full day of fly-fishing insight, product showcases, and relaxed shop-floor chat with some of the biggest names in the business. We’ll be joined by Jim Curry, Jim Fearn, Simon Gawesworth, James Hunt, Ben McCallum, Ed Browning from Patagonia, and Jack Aitken from YETI — all bringing fresh thinking, technical know-how and hands-on advice throughout the day.

Expect casting demos on the river, timed presentations in-store, and plenty of chances to drop in and speak directly with brand reps from Guideline, RIO, Sage, Patagonia, and YETI. Whether you want to test a new rod, upgrade your kit, or just pick up a few tips, you’ll find it all under one roof. From 6.30 pm, we’ll wrap things up with an evening social — drinks, food and good conversation — followed by our 8 pm charity raffle in aid of TweedStart.

Some sessions require advance booking, but much of the day is open for browsing, questions, and casual conversation. Come along, bring a mate, and make a day of it — everyone’s welcome.

Live casting sessions

Live casting sessions on the mighty River  Tweed – book in advance. Join casting experts Jim Fearn, Jim Curry, and Simon Gawesworth on the riverbank for hands-on demonstrations covering Spey techniques, trout tactics, and modern setups using rods and lines from Sage, RIO, and Guideline.

These sessions are small and focused — max 10 people per demo, so make sure to RSVP early to secure your place on any of the sessions.

In-Store Presentations

Talks, Q&A, and product advice from the pros. Throughout the day, the shop will host timed presentations from leading voices in fly fishing, including James Hunt (Tweed Foundation), Ben McCallum (Tweed Start), and Simon Gawesworth (RIO / SAGE / Redington).

We’ll also have Ed Browning from Patagonia, Jack Aitken from YETI, and representatives from Guideline, Sage, and RIO in-store, offering tailored advice, new product insights, and assistance with your setup.

Evening Social & Raffle

After a packed day of talks and demos, we’re closing the day in true Fin & Game style — with an evening social in the shop. From 6.30 pm, join us for a relaxed get-together with drinks, food, and the chance to catch up with ghillies, guests, speakers, and friends from across the fishing community.

At 8 pm, we’ll draw our charity raffle in support of Tweed Start, with some brilliant prizes up for grabs. No booking needed — just drop in and enjoy the evening.
